BBQ & Graduation Season is Here!
Don’t Let a Plumbing Fail Crash Your Party.
Hi Neighbors! 🌸 Before the guests arrive and the grill gets started, take 10 minutes to protect your home. As your 3-time Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave (2023–2025), I want to help you avoid a "party-day" emergency.

Check these 5 things before the big event:
- The Hose Bibb Test: Turn on your outside spigot and block the flow with your thumb. If you can stop the water, it’s likely leaking through a hidden freeze-crack inside your wall.
- The "Silent" Toilet Check: Drop food coloring in your tank; if the bowl changes color, you have a leak wasting money! Also, gently push the toilet with your knee—if it wiggles, your seal is broken and your subfloor is at risk.
- Emergency Shut-offs: Gently try the valves under your sinks and toilets. If they are stuck, do not force them—they are prone to snapping and leaking. They need a pro’s touch to replace safely.
- Sump Pump "Pulse": Pour a bucket of water in your pit to make sure it triggers. Don't wait for a spring storm to flood your basement during the graduation party!
- Water Heater Flush & Check: Look for rust or "crusty" buildup around the base. A quick flush to remove sediment can prevent a "no hot water" disaster when you have a house full of guests.
